- Broccoli - I use tenderstem broccoli.
- Stir fry sauce - includes sesame oil, lime juice and soy sauce.
- Prawns - I use raw king prawns, also known as shrimp.
- Seasonings for the prawns - black pepper, garlic granules and onion granules.
- Oil - I use sunflower oil for this recipe but use any oil you prefer.
- Onion - use a brown onion.
- Ginger - use fresh root ginger.
- Garlic - use fresh garlic cloves.
- Peppers - red bell pepper.
- Sesame seeds - for garnish.

How to Make Broccoli Stir Fry with Sesame Lime and Ginger
Blanch the broccoli: Bring a pot of water to a boil then add the tender stem broccoli and allow to cook for 2 minutes. Strain using a colander, rinse with cold water and set aside.
Make the sauce: Add the sesame oil, lime juice and soy sauce to a small bowl. Mix and set aside.
Season the prawns: Pat the prawns dry with paper towels then season them with black pepper, garlic granules and onion granules. Mix the seasonings into the prawns.
Cook the prawns: Heat the oil in a frying pan on a medium to high heat. Add the prawns to the pan and cook for 3 - 4 while stirring. Remove the prawns from the frying pan using a slotted spoon and set aside.
Cook the remaining ingredients: Cook the onions, ginger and garlic for 2 minutes while stirring then add the red bell peppers, tender stem broccoli and stir fry for another 2 minutes. Add in the stir fry sauce then add the prawns back to the pan. Combine everything together and serve immediately with rice, noodles or cauliflower rice.

Quick Prawn Broccoli Stir Fry with Sesame Lime and Ginger
Ingredients
- 200g tender stem broccoli
- 2 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoon lime juice from fresh lime
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 200g king prawns raw
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¾ teaspoon garlic granules (powder)
- ¾ teaspoon onion granules (powder)
- 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
- ½ medium brown onion (chopped)
- 1 small piece of ginger (finely chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (finely chopped)
- ½ red bell pepper (sliced)
- 2 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Place a pot of water on a high heat. Once the water is boiling place the tender stem broccoli into the water for 2 minutes. Strain using a colander, rinse with cold water and set aside.
- In a small bowl, add and mix the sesame oil, lime juice and soy sauce. Set aside. Remove any excess water on the prawns by patting them with paper towels then season with black pepper, garlic granules and onion granules.
- Add the oil to a frying pan and place on a medium to high heat. Once the oil is sizzling, add the prawns to the pan and cook for 3 - 4 turning frequently. Remove from the frying pan using a slotted spoon and set aside.
- To the same pan, add the onions, ginger and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add the red bell peppers, tender stem broccoli and cook for another 2 minutes. Pour on the stir fry sauce then add the prawns back to the pan. Stir everything together and serve immediately with rice, noodles or cauliflower rice.
