- 250g fresh green beans trimmed and rinsed
- 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon for the water and ½ teaspoon for seasoning
- 15g butter salted or unsalted
- 1 small red onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Bring a large saucepan of water to a boil with ½ teaspoon of salt. Add beans and cook for 3 - 4 minutes until just tender but still crisps. Drain and immediately rinse under cold water then set aside.
In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 4 – 5 minutes while stirring occasionally, until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the green beans to the pan, tossing to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes until heated through. Add the salt and black pepper then serve warm.
